    Tire/Rim question - Ogre

Can you run a 700cc rim/Tire combo with canti breaks on the Ogre? My first trek will be a 125 all pavement ride from Sacramento to Tahoe City and I'm trying to save a bit of coin.

found this on the website....but still not sure.

Rims Alex Adventurer, 700c. 32-hole. Black w/machined sidewalls

    Thanks!

Yeah, you can. The frame/fork has the mounts for canti brakes. Big Apples are good tires. I've also run panaracer ribmo's and currently run bontrager hardcase's

I run a 700c Velocity Dyad + Deore XT wheelset on my 2008 Karate Monkey (which is just an Ogre without the more useful braze-ons) with either Schwalbe Big Apples or WTB Vulpine 2.1s with Tektro CR720 cantilevers.

Big comfort, on and off road, and very solid braking without the pain-in-the-ass of mechanical discs (especially on the older design rear fork-end).

29 x 2.15 here. Opted for the slightly smaller version so that they would fit inside the Cascadia 29er fenders the KM occasionally wears.
