    Krampus: The Yule Lord

Just noticed this at the Powell's website.

Gerald Brom, artist and author of the acclaimed illustrated novel The Child Thief, presents Krampus: The Yule Lord (Harper Voyager), a modern fabulist tale featuring the dark enemy of Santa Claus. One Christmas Eve in Boone County, West Virginia, the discovery of a magical sack thrusts struggling songwriter Jesse Walker into the clutches of the terrifying Krampus. Can Jesse help resolve an ancient feud and bring the magic of Yule to the impoverished townspeople?

It's funny, I had never heard of Krampus prior to this. It's an interesting folktale.

I thought it was funny about Surly naming their bike Krampus . . .

Rad bike fun story - there's a really good play about Krampus that our local theater puts on every winter. Also a few Krampus named brews that come out around the holidays.

    TV Krampus

Two recent TV sitcoms have Krampus in an episode title, "Suburgatory" and "Family Guy."

A few years back, a Krampus appeared in the Christmas episode of The Venture Brothers; the Krampus started beating and then humping Dr. Venture. It was awesome. There is a clip on YouTube but I'm blocked from YouTube at work.

    Krampus was on Scooby-Doo today.
