    KM harsh rider or not?

I have seen more than one reference in the 29er forum to the Karate Monkey being a "harsh" riding frame. Fact or fiction. Having never ridden any 29er I have no point if reference, but maybe some of the older riders can compare to a rigid MB1 , rigid steel stumpy, rigid Wicked FC as IMO are all good compliant frames. I realize perception is everything as the bikes I listed ridden rigid would be harsh to lots of riders.

Looks like bad news when non of the KM owners seem interested in offering up a opinion on ride quality.

Yeah I'd say it's somewhat harsh, but it's got clearance to run the biggest tires made. So that makes up for it and then some.

I should add I weigh 165lbs. If rider weight is 200+ that will probably make it ride less harsh

You have to give it some time Fred. Most Monkey owners spent more time riding that trolling the forums. Other that the size and ther fact that it is a 29'r my KM reminds me of my '92 Rockhopper. Not much to go on unless you used to roll a '92 Rockhopper.

I'd say the KM is a pretty stiff bike, but I don't like flexy steel bikes. Just run fat tires.
