    Karate Monkey Complete from Jenson

    Alright Folks,

This will be my first 29'er and Jenson will actually ship to Tokyo. Here is what I have so far:

    Brooks Saddle
    Tuggnut
    Schwalbe Big Apples

This bike will be a commuter. I already have pedals and my only question is, should I have them put on a White Industries Freewheel? That Shimano stocker has a bad name on various threads. A new bar and grips, and other things will come after I get used to her. Rode one last month with knobbies on the road and fell in love LOL. I have a 2010 Stumpy pimped for the dirt so this bike will be road only. Any inputs are greatly appreciated. Thanks--Steel is Real!!

you will love the big apples on the KM. they really enhance the momentum of the big wheels; they are a little heavy but once they are rolling they keep going. my first shimano freewheel was pretty quiet. replaced it after two years with another shimano and it knocked and creaked from day one. oiling didn't really help. after 4months of listening to that racket I bought and installed a WI Freewheel and I love it. best upgrade I have done. So yes, I would spend the money now and then you are set for the long haul. enjoy your new ride.

I would only invest in the White freewheel if you are sure of your gearing already.

Get yourself some comfortable grips! I'd also consider some bar ends (gasp!) on a commuter build.

    Very true.

the WI freewheel is money though.

I opted for the trials version for my commuter. Love it...
