    The Impossible Dream

Winter is coming to North Ohio. I've got a few projects lined up. One is trying to put together a 20 lb or less Pacer. My budget is limited. I have a 54 frame fork and headset. My parts bin is filled with Campy Veloce and Centaur parts. Not quite sure if you could do a Centaur equipped bike or not. I'm sure the steel fork will have to go. Any recommendations?

Enve wheels, DA everything should get you there.

My steel road bike is at 19lbs, and it's got 1600 gram wheelset, DA 7800 cranks, Romin Ti saddle, light bullhorn bars, one front brake and no gears. Trying to get your 4.5lb steel frame under 20lbs will take some $.

DA is nice but out of the picture. I'm trying to make due with what I have in the parts box. I know I'll need a seatpost, stem, handlebars, saddle and some other small parts. I have most of the group. Just how much does a Pacer complete bike weigh? I'm talking about the one Surly sells.

I doubt that you will get under 20lbs with Veloce and Centaur, but I guess it highly depends on your wheels, too.

Not sure about the complete build weight. Looks like 105 components with tank wheels and 28mm tires. Probably 24lbs or so, I'd guess.
