Complete KM from Surly, SS only?

Does the complete Karate Monkey from Surly only come as a SS or do they sell a geared version? I don't think I'm ready for SS yet but I do like the idea of being able to swap to that in the future.

Going to check with the LBS to see what it would take to build one up for me but thought I might check here first to see if geared is available as a complete bike from anywhere.

I thought that was probably the case, great to have verification. Thanks for the quick reply. To the LBS!

Honestly I would wait until mid September, after Eurobike/Interbike. Just in case there are new changes coming for 2012. No one knows at this point.

Probably not buying until Feb/March at this point. Not much time for MTB right now with a couple sprint triathlons followed immediately by cross season. Just doing my research ahead of time.

The frame was redesigned for 2011. Look for the same in 2012.

Why don't you ask your local dealer to build a geared custom KM for you?

As soon as I sell my road bike, I'm heading to my LBS for a geared KM. It's a ss right now as that's how they come, but you can definitely gear that up.
