Any news on new tires for the Krampus?

Love my Krampus BUT the tires are the weak link for me right now. 120 TPI version and I have cut the side wall about 3/8" and a 3/16" partial slice on the main body of the tire up in the knobs. Both times were while riding rocky areas. I am also a little spooked on slippery rocks w/the Knards. I weigh about 230 and have the Knards on Rabbit Holes at appx 18-19 Lbs. They can surprise you on slippery rocks if not cognizant of the conditions. Any chance that Surly or some other tire Mfg will come out w/some options? I'd love to see a 60 TPI tire w/a bit more bite on the knobs, Esp the side knobs? Love the way Knards roll, so keep the center small tread!

I agree. I tore 2 120s on the back and just punctured a 1/2" hole in a 27tpi on the back. Going to try a maxxis 2.5 two ply front DH tire on the rear next.

I read something this morning about a 29x2.75 Dirt Wizard tire. Same tire as what's being introduced with the 2014 Instigator, but in the 29" flavor. Looks promising. I can't remember where I read it though.
