After lurking on these forums, reading different reviews and others experiences, I decided to go with a Motobecane Fantom 29 Expert. Was super excited to get this bike in and get it up and running. Was pretty surprised how fast it arrived. Even with a holiday weekend, it still arrived within roughly four days. Open up the box and inspect all the pieces like they say to do in the emails they send post purchase. Was heart broken to see this:
Sent an email to BD customer service right away (well after business hours) asking to begin the refund process, not knowing if any alternatives were available for this situation. Larry responded the next morning saying they are sending a replacement outer chain ring. An option I'd much prefer to packing this bike up again and bringing it to UPS. The good news is, the weather here is pretty crappy so I'm not losing any bike time.
Just wanted to add my experience for any doing the same exhaustive research I was doing and to also say thanks to everyone that posted the useful information I used to come to my decision :thumbsup:
