Hi there. (Not sure if this is the right thread to ask)
So...
I got Tektro Draco hydraulic brakes. Lost pressure on my front brake.
Im guessing its a gasket on the handle (not sure, but there was some oil there). Is this a common problem on hyraulic brakes?
How old are the brakes? It may be as simple as adding fluid to the reservoir, or it may be blown seals, in which case, you might as well replace the brakes.
Thank you for reply!
The bike is 1-2 years old. Since i lost my brakes suddenly, over like 2 days with minimal use i have no idea what it could be. Thats to fast for it to be the pads or low fluid, dont you think? Sorry for my bad english, im from norway :|
Well, the reservoir could potentially be the problem. You'd be fine up until the point when you no longer have fluid to call on in the reservoir and then, bam, no brakes. Given their age, I would start with bleeding them/adding fluid to the reservoir.
Orient the reservoir to the highest point in the system, and remove the cover. If it's empty, there's a good chance you found your culprit. If it's a color other than light red/pink, you should also bleed the system.
If neither of those solve the problem, I would look for new brakes.
