My sister (and her family) live in Switzerland. I am finally taking advantage of her location and planning a trip to the Alps. A couple others will be coming along (friends and dad). We would like to find a good touring company to show us around and take us to some classic places. Most of us race XC so our fitness is pretty good, but others need something a bit easier on the climbing. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Hey Criscobike. I work for a company called BikeToursDirect (Bike Tours Direct: Bicycle tours in Europe and beyond) We represent local bike tour companies all over the world with several companies that have tours in the Alps as well. We have are adding more and more tours to our site on a daily basis and will be adding even more tours in the Alps soon. Check out our site, and shoot me a message on here or at info@biketoursdirect.com and I can tell you more. I am sure we can find a great tour for you.

Hi Crisco:

Just as I was literally about to post on this very topic about a week ago you beat me to it. Unfortunately you have not gotten much traffic. Since you posted i've done some of my own digging and have come up with some nice, viable options. Here they are:

Home - Mountain Bike Holidays in Chatel, France

Mountain Bike Holidays in Morzine | ridemorzine.com

Trekking mountain holidays : Mountain bike and trekking mountain holidays - Portes du Soleil

This one looked particularly promising:
Mountain Biking - Valais Tour - OTP Holidays, the Switzerland Travel Specialists for Ski, Bike, Hike, Adventure & Swiss Train/Rail

Swiss Tours, Swisstrails, Biking in Switzerland, Cycling in Switzerland

This will likely be my choice as I've decided I'd rather sleep somewhere new each night and the self-guided options seem great:
www.bike-explorer.ch - Biketouren für die Regionen Graubünden, Tessin, Wallis, Ostschweiz, Zentralschweiz, Jura, Mittelbünden, Unterengadin, Berner Oberland (Arosa, Davos, Klosters, Prättigau, Lenzerheide, Bergün, Savognin, Flims/Laax, Surselva, Val

The most beautiful signposted mountain-biking routes - Mountainbiking in Switzerland

There! Those should be enough to get your head spinning for a while! Best of luck!
