What's with all of the night riding? I have been riding for about 5 years and I am new on this board. I keep reading about people riding at night and I have never even thought about it. Is this common? What is the draw?
Biggest draw is extended riding hours in the short days of winter...plus it makes old trails new again...riding at nights really changes your perspective...and even more so when the trails are all white.
FRM...wish I could make this ride....but alas I'm still MIA....next year

It's dark. And sometimes while you can't see how lame the scenery is then on places like Green Mountain which has some otherwise decent singletrack, the thing I like about it most is that it's not crowded, and without the sun, sometimes your sense of time stops. Can be loads of focused fun, especially if riding a place at night that you are not familiar with.
We used to do weekly Wednesday night rides through the winter, but seems to have died out this year in favor of the occasional short notice twilight fiasco.
Ok, that makes more sense. I never would have imagined people are out on trails in the middle of the night. Kinda cool.
