Now that the Shimano 10sp parts are entering the market, I'd expect to se the 9sp stuff at low low prices. I've seen some discounts, but nothing that makes me rip out the credit card.

Has anyone seen, oh, say, XT cranks for a reasonable price?

Shimano for Deore is staying 9 speeds. Alivio is going to 9 speeds.

SRAM is producing an XX equivalent cassette for 9 speeds already, its only available thus far as an 11-32 but its very very light.

So $200 for XT cranks IS the reasonable price....I am so freakin' cheap.
yep, list price is $350 :eekster: I have no plans to spend near that much on a crankset either.

SLX is a very good "compromise"... the arms weigh the same as XT, XT just has fancier rings that weigh less.

The LX that forkboy linked to is a really good deal too. I've picked up two in the last month:D
