I've got a set of second generation EBs that might be worn out. I've had them since they first came out, and they've been rebuilt multiple times. This time I noticed that the inside "beaters" (for lack of a better term -- the parts that grab ahold of the cleat) were much looser than usual. In fact, there was a gap between the end of the inside beaters and the rest of the pedal body at the spindle end. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before. I finished the rebuild and there's no real play, but when I forced grease through the system it came out the sides of the pedal body where the gap was rather than down at the end of the pedal body by the spindle where it normally does.
Any help? I'll probably call CB tomorrow and see what they have to say, but I wanted to know if anyone has seen this before.
