hey all, i'm debating about whether to have my friend at Ramblumtick Bikes build me a funky original piece of art frame so i can build up my own singlespeed, or just getting a 1FG (no headshock or disc brakes, i want simplicity to contrast my FS disc tubeless modern technology that i can't fix when it breaks CC bike). anyone got good opinions, etc. about the 1FG?
thanks muchly!
Rides rather nice. Ultra, ultra, ultra stiff - I mean stiff. Pull out the ebb and grease it and you are good to go. If you want to shave some weigh drop the Highrollers. Oh.. and the c-dale brake levers work, feel ok, but are sloppy. All the angles line up really well with me, the best I can describe it is 'natural'.
The 1FG 2003 looked surprisingly cheap in the flesh!
It was the first CD I kinda started to like and I was very disappointed when I saw it!
Also a lof ot people seem to leave the EBB-way again - which is a good thing ... keep it simple get a nice steal frame build for yourself!
I like my 1FG a lot but if I had the opportunity to get an original frame and it's within your budget, I'd go for it.
