    XX, X0, X9 10-speed rear derailleur/shifter interchangeability/ compatibility..

I would like to summarize here for everyone's benefit the interchangeability/ compatibility of SRAM XX, X0, X9 and X7 shifters and rear derailleurs- 10 SPEED.

Which rear derailleurs work with which rear shifters and possibly what is the actuation ratio..

(Example: SRAM AA rear derailleur works with SRAM AA and SRAM BB trigger shifters; actuation ration 1:1)

Please post only if you know for SURE (not to confuse the rest of folks) :-)

    Thanks !

    I think it would be 15 x 35

SRSLY ? why would any of those 2 cassette not work as long as you get the proper rd cage length and right chain length ?

Well you then just replace the crank and shorten the chain... Unless you also want to get a new cassette and chain with your new crank ?

Nope, 9 speed to 9 speed and 10 speed to 10 speed.
Hardrock 29er, Niner EMD9, Cannondale F29, Camber Expert, 650b Nickel all gone.

Is the Sram xx1 rear derailleur (only) compatible w/ xx shifters and 10 sp chain, or does XX1 derailleur use a different acutation/cable pull ratio thus rendering the xx 10 speed chain and shifters un-usable. Note: I am not talking about using any other XX1 components, cassette, etc. The objective is that i ma replacing my worn out XX rear derailleur and would like to use the XX1 clutch rear derailleur as the replacement, as I will be running a 1x10 drivetrain.

The derailleur functions completely different then a normal 10sp. derailleur.

    11sp has to stick with 11sp. 10sp with 10sp 9sp with 9sp etc...

Has anyone exact information concerning xx1\x01 derailleurs real ratio?
I mean - will they work on 10-speed with shimano 10 speed triggers, like 9speed sram derailleurs do?

At last I bought x01 rear derailleur and received following results:
x01 ratio is 1:1 as sram 9speed or shimano 10speed.
x01 works good with 10speed cassette and 10speed SLX shifter, and I think, the same will be with 9speed cassette and 9speed sram shifter.

So, it is possible to buy x01\xx1 derailleur and cassette extender for 10speed cassette only and save some money...
