Niner is offering X01 build kits now. Any specs?

I'm in when it comes out. But I think it's funny that the darkened niner ad is a bike with a 2x10 drivetrain. I know rumors say 1000-1200, hope the group ends up under $1k though since xx1 can be had for under $1200

Interested if it'll even come down to x91 at some point.

I have been seeing new XX1 for $990 so I hope it is sub $1000.

XX1 is right around $1000 "street price" for a kit.

X01 should be ~$750 "street price" IMHO which will be a steal for what you get. I don't see why anyone would bother with 2x10 at that price point.

I wonder if the rear derailleur will be cheaper enough to warrant it. I have a feeling the majority of $$ savings will come from a heavier multi piece cassette.

I bet most folks will do a XX1 build with the XO1 cassette and maybe shifter.

Yup, that was my plan. I've got 3 XX1s right now, but I'll buy 2 X01 cassettes and use those on the "non race bikes" and save the XX1 cassettes for the race bike.

I'm contemplating an xo1 for my next build. How do you go about ordering a group, LBS or call SRAM direct? Or do I have to wait until its released to try and get my order in line?

Interesting. Just like the xx1 crank is a standard x.0 2x10 crank (just different spider and chainrings), the x.01 crank looks like a 2x10 x9 crank.

Appears to be 104 bcd. Judging by scale. Nice

I reckon that chainset is the non series x1 version not the x01 both were shown in a pdf floating around here somewhere.

Sneak Peek: First Glimpse of SRAM's X01 Drivetrain - Features - Vital MTB

The retail pricing isn't that far off from XX1.

    X01 cassette MSRP is 399. XX1 is 432.

    RD...X01 is 269. XX1 is 310.

X01 crank MSRP is 279. XX1 is 290. (GXP ver)

It needs to trickle down to X9...

Wow... not much of a break at all. At those levels, not even worth doing the Xo1, right?
    Are these the expected prices?

I grabbed those prices off a vendor site. It's possible that it could change when it actually releases.

Only issue with the 104 bcd is chainring size. Don't think they'll be able to offer the 28t and 30t rings with that bcd.

Probably a move to keep the X01 crank from robbing sales from the XX1 crank.

Also, no 10t cog on the cassette. Sublte gearing differences between the 2 groups.

where are you seeing that? The pictures in the above cited releases show a 10t.

Honestly, I'd rather have another gear in the middle than a 10 - I'd be fine if it topped out at 12...

The caption says 11-42...didn't count the cogs. Also thought I read 11t elsewhere. But the pic does show 10t.

Looks really sharp. They're going to sell a ton of them if the price is right.

    Bummer that there's no 28T.

You can always get a X9 and run the 28T Wolf Tooth spiderless ring?
