    X9 gruppo w/ 29er

My SRAM X9 2x10 gruppo came with 28/42, after a couple of weeks of using 29er bike I noticed the front gearing seem a bit high, is it as simple replacement to a 26/29 gear set? Do I need to change chain (shorter lenght) and repositioning of front derailer? Is it possible to use an SRAM XX 2x10 crankset with the X9 front derailers? Thanks

Yes to all. You could just get new rings for your crank. You would also lower the FD accordingly. You may not have to touch the chain length if the RD can ahndle the slight increase of chain slack in the 26x11/12 combo. All SRAM 2x10 stuf is compitble through the different groups.

Can I just replace the 28 plate w/ the 26 plate to work with the big 42? Will the FD system still work as smoothly? The reason is I am having trouble looking for the 39 here in the Philippines (out of stock). Thanks
