sram Double tap flatbar shifter's FD compatibility

title kinda says a lot, well heck it says it all...
what Mountain FD can I use with these SRAM Double-Tap Flat-bar shifters?

    http://www.sram.com/sram/road/produc...-road-shifters

Or is this a case were I am forced to use a Road specific front Derailleur?

It's a on/off cruiser project i had on going for the better part of this summer, trying to get an old 92' Trek 950 drive worthy again...
(yeaH She's old, but she was my first and I just can't let her go...)
And No my Yeti Seven isn't jealous at all of her...

I have had success setting up the rear Derailleur with an X.9 9-speed Mountain Derailleur...
But the front has proved to be tricky, I need a Front D compatible with Double -Tap Tech and a 1:1 ratio...

    ANY THOUGHTS GURU'S!!

    thanks in advance...

How does it work? I have been tempted to try double tap with a 2x10 system. Or even just the front on my 2x9 (using a 10 spd chain). I think I'd really like it for front shifts if I could get a hold of a front shifter fairly cheap-ish

You can't depend on honest answers from dependant hands...

I'm running the 3 x 9 setup and it works great as a commuter setup... That said here's what I've learned.... It requires 1:1 actuation ratio Derailluers, ( so X 9 or higher). Second while it is Very accurate, it could be touchy in rough terrain... Since it depends on how far you depress the singlr lever... A mis-shift could be easier too make while going over a rooted area or on a rough singletrack... I love it on my commuter, but my FS asr7 has full X 0 package and the shifter's are second to none... Good luck

Did this end up working for you? I want to try SRAM Rival brifters on a mountain double, and am wondering what to do to make it work, if it is even possible at all.

Yes, but only with x9 derailleurs or above.. X7 had a uncompatible ratio, so if the shifters your using have the same ratio as the dbl taps then all should work for your setup...
GL. Post results if you get a chance!

I have an X.9 RD, and want to use it with 10sp SRAM Rival or Force brifters.

Are you saying this set-up will actually work w/o some sort of in-line adapters, etc.? If so, it'd make this project I'm working on a lot easier.

The X.9 is a few years older, maybe a 2008 or '09 model, by the way.
