King GXP BB + XX1 Crank Won't Tighten Enough

Installed a Chris King GXP version Bottom Bracket and am trying to install a XX1 crankset.

    All washers in place:
    • 4 black washers on drive-side
    • Spring washer on drive-side
    • Silver washer on non-drive side
    • Spacer over spindle end on non-drive side

When I tighten the 8mm bolt, the bolt seems tightened and there is still considerable play. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I've scoured the threads here and only seem to find cases of non-GXP King BBs where the solution was to get the fit kit.

I have the same setup. Did you include the disc spring after the 4 washers on the drive-side?

Added pics up top. I'm fairly certain the order of everything is correct. However, if I made a mistake please let me know!

Did you try the fitting test? Insert crank w/o bearing sleeves and outer edge of adapter sleeve should protrude from outside of bearing by 0.5mm. 0mm to 1mm is acceptable. If not within 1mm you would need to add/remove spacers. If you have a 68mm BB you would need to add a spacer. This is all I can come up with....good luck!

I'm already using all 4 spacers that came with the BB. I guess I'll have to order more shims...

Mine came with a couple of extra ones that were white. Also came with 2 2.5mm BB cup spacers for use on 68mm BB in between cup and BB.

I'm using the two 2.5mm spacers (for 68mm shell). Curious if should move both to the drive side instead of the current config (1 on each side).

I am so ashamed. When I removed the bearing spindle sleeves to fit check (per the instructions), I set these aside. Somehow, I forgot they existed.

Sorry for wasting your time folks. Thank you for trying to help regardless!
