    GX Eagle 12 speed chain

    I was surprised the powerlock is attached to the chain. I was expecting to cut the chain to length with my suspension in full compression on a full suspension bike. Is the length of the chain pre-set based on the cassette, crank and derailleur dimensions? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am learning. Thanks.

    You mean that the chainlink is joined so that you have to open it to put the chain on or simply that the two parts of the link has been put on either end of the chain for packaging?

    Here is a picture of the chain. I expected the power-link to be separate from the chain. Also, the power links are on the same side versus being on opposite sides. I must be missing something.

    They are not fixed in any way, just pull them out and install the chain as you described above.
