    Dead XX1 Shifter.

Shifter died on the way up my driveway at the end of my ride. Took it off the bike, removed cable, and this is what I found. Can't get it back together. Anyone know how to reach SRAM's warranty guys? I live in the sticks and have no local shop.

Damn, that sucks! There was a whole other thread regarding the XX1's failing, but supposedly SRAM was thought to have worked it all out. May I suggest trying to contact SRAM through twitter or their facebook page, and don't forget to include the pictures...

Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful, but good luck!

SRAM warranty came through. Had to go into town for something else. Brought it to the shop, 30min later I got a call back telling me they had worked their magic.

    Thanks SRAM!

SRAM is really good with their warranty replacements. Grip shift looks cool but I just couldn't adapt to it when I tried it out a few years ago, glad you will be up and riding again soon.

Yep. Less than a week from visiting my shop to getting the call that the new one was in. Luckily I had a spare trigger shifter to use in the meanwhile.

The grip shifter is on the XC bike, trigger back on the long travel FS now.
