Can Someone Explain the Preload Adjuster on my PF30 Crank?

    1) What does it do?

    2) Is it supposed to spin in unison with the crank?

    3) Is it adjustable, and if so how and why make the adjustments.

    4) Any special maintenance requirements and/or adjustments that need to be made from time to time, and when?

I've looked at the installation instructions from SRAM, but really didn't get much there.

Thanks, this is my first press fit bottom bracket, all my previous cranksets have been either GXP external shell or square tapered.

Preload is kinda like a good pair of shoes. Not too loose and not too tight.

    1. Adjusts preload or your bearing to crank spindle relationship. Keep in mind that there is a limited range of adjustment and you may need to rely on additional spacers.
    2. Yes
    3. Yes. To maintain properly adjusted preload.
    4. Just keep an eye on it. Like any bb/crank setup, miles=maintenance.
