Im having an issue with my 2011 reba rlt 140 29" fork
I wanted to do the maintenance as I had hydrolock. my fork was purchased new and has never been serviced. when I went to remove the gate valve knob I discovered that the set screw was a) loctited in and B) the wrench socket was rounded, so much so that a 1.5 wrench just spun loosley. I finally was able to get the screw out using a star bit as an easy out.
I went to my local dealer to order a new screw and was told that you have to buy the whole assembly, (screw, knobs and washer for $35!!!
checking the forums I see that this appears to be a common problem and many shops will not service the fork without having a spare set screw beforehand.
I dont mind buying a set screw but I shouldnt have to buy all the other parts , especially since the screw was damaged at the factory.
I cant seem to find an email address to contact SRAM direct
any help would be appreciated
