Any compatibilty issues w/X9 10 sp. rear derailleur & XO grip shift?

I'm looking at a new bike that comes with an X9, 10-speed, mid cage, Type 2 rear derailleur and I'd want to change the shifters to XO Grip Shift. I'm assuming that would work, but if there are any issues I'd sure appreciate knowing about it before I lay down my money.
