    XX1 chainset on Epic 2012

been running a 36T Bling Ring on a SRAM GXP crank with PF30 to BSA adaptors on my Epic all winter, no problems with clearance,

for the summer I have switch back to a PF30 BB and using BB30 SRAM cranks, problems with clearance on the Bling Ring,

Is anyone using a XX1 with 34T on a 2012 Epic Carbon Comp (alloy rear triangle)? Which Q-factor? Does 156 have enough clearance?

Also do you run a chain device with the XX1?

I'll give you my situation even though it isn't the same.

32T XX1 crank/ring on a 2013 Carbon Comp. I went with 168Q because I had read that Specialized mountain bikes are not set up for 156Q. SPECIALIZED | Q Factor needed for 2011 Epic Expert EVO...

I figured I could go wider without any physio problems, but I couldn't go narrower due to it not fitting on the bike. Fat bike Q factors are like 200+ I think and I haven't seen anyone complain about the Q factor on them yet.

I am using an XT RD w/ clutch in a 1x10 setup and no chain guard and I dropped a chain once in the 250+ miles since I have been running it. It was when I cased my rear wheel on a log while trying to bunny hop it and I think spinning the cranks while shifting at the same time. It dropped off on the outside.

    I'm running a XX1 36t with a 156q on a 2011 Epic Expert carbon 29. It's close and the max you could go.

No modifications to the BB for this? Wonder why Specialized says (external link above) they require q166?
