It's not that I don't believe your results, but I wonder how accurate your scale is?

I weighed mine at work on a scale that is calibrated at least once a year.

you were surprised because you were wrong.

that bike weighs 27+ unless its a small, then its ~26, but you're grasping with that claim.

Never ever ever ever ever ever again on the internet call something "stock" that is not stock, its posts like this that confuse people.

the words "stock" and "except" should never never ever ever never ever be in the same sentence.

...really its all stock, except....as well as.....and a....

My very un-stock 06 Stumpy FSR weighed in at 26.3 lbs before I switched to lighter tires and tubes.

    Oh yeah, it's a medium.

My 2007 Expert with XT cassette, RaceFace Next SL seatpost, SLR saddle is 23 pounds +/- a bit depending on cages/wheels/tires du jour. Currently running last year's Mavic Crossmax SL and Michelin XCR Dry UST rubber. I will change out the stem/bar/grips (currently ordered) and then I'm done unless I can find an affordable set of 4Ti eggbeaters. I need to stop spending on the bike and get the engine into shape...

My 2003 SJ FSR Comp is right at 28lb right now. It's got the stock frame, fork, rear shock, bars/stem/seat/seatpost, and F/R der right now. The unstock equipment is as follows:
Shimano XT Hollowtech II crankset w/outboard bearing bb
    Crank Bros Candy SL pedals
    XT cassette
    XTR shift cables
    02 Magura Julie discs 180/160
    07 Mavic CrossTrail Disc wheels
    Planet Bike downtube fender
    Spec computer

It was just over 29lb, so the new wheels alone shaved just over a pound off the weight of the bike. It just FEELS much faster now. No pics right now...I've got salsa skewers on order.

I think they go fine in the same sentence because it does speed up describing everything.

For example I have a base model 07 rockhopper that is complete stock except for the pedals which I changed over to M520's.

It saves me a lot of time writing stuff out because I only really changed one thing on it.
