Where can I find torque specs. for My 07' Epic handlebar? I just bought a Easton Monkeylite XC Handlebar 2008 31.8mm Hi-Rise 1.5" and it says to torque the same specs as the facory aluminum bar. I just need the torque specs. for stem, brake clamps ODI lock on grips etc....
It depends on the stem. If it is a 4 bolt face plate then 40 in/lbs for the bar, 2 bolt is usually double this. Usually the stem will have torque values printed on it.
You can't torque the grips enough, you will strip the bolt head before hurting the bar.
As for shifter, just tight enough so it won't move very easily. I like to keep my brakes even looser, so if they do get moved froma crash it is easy to put them back where they were. Also makes it less likely to break/bend a lever.
