Looks damn good!! :)Quote:
Hi everyone spent too much time here lately looking at all the love thrown at your bikes.
My old (2007 or 2008? ) FSR XC has served me well over the years and as I am more of a cruiser than a thrasher the frame is still in great condition.
I always thought that I would replace it at some stage, but as I'am fairly talent less and mainly just roll around keeping my wheels on the ground I went the up grade route instead. Picked up a new set of wheels awhile back, and the last few months I have replaced the fork, bars, stem, saddle and added a dropper post.
New fork and new tyres as well.
Dropper post and new fabric saddle.
I have seen good reviews on the Fabric saddles and came across one in one of my local LBS and at $80 dollars well worth a try. This one is a Scoop Shallow it felt great after a four hour ride first time out. Then yesterday walking past another LBS they had stock of the Fabric's too (local rep must be working overtime :) ) They had the Scoop Radius which was the one I had really wanted to try, o'well whats another $80 ;)
Had a quick one and half hour ride on this today and its the pick of the two on this bike. The Shallow is now on my hardtail MB, its a little more stretched out riding position and it seems a good match after a quick spin around the block.
A 1x11 setup is next on the list, that will leave just the frame and rear shock from the original bike.
The new Specialised bikes that I like the look of would cost me a fair penny and not really add to much to my type of local riding. I'am lucky enough to have single track like this starting a few hundred meters from home.
So the FSR Xc should see a few more years service yet.
Thanks for the inspiration.
