What year Rockhopper frame is this?

Can anyone tell me what year this frame is? I am selling the frame and need to know the year.

I got it from a friend who also got it used and did not know the year. In case it matters, it came with a 9 sp drive train, v-brakes, xt rear der, and blue Manitou Spyder R fork.

    Thanks,

    Kapusta

    I'm thinking 2000 or 2001.

    Leaning towards 2001.

I don't think its a 2001. I have a 2001 Rockhopper and the frame is completely different. I don't think they had that color scheme that year either because I don't remember seeing it in either the catalog or the LBS when I went bike shopping.

I also thought by 2001 all the Rockhoppers had disc tabs?

dunno, on my old sj hardtails the first two digits of the stamping was the year, obviously that dosnt make sense in your case. That was also back when the frame were made in usa to. Maybe the 7005 is the AL series?

7005 is definetely the aluminum series... which is odd, because it has the A1 logo. Today's A1 logo is 6061-T6 aluminum, which is actually a step down.

can you take closer pics of the frame?

Also check the bottom of the bottom bracket for a stamping, all of my Specd suspenion bikes have their serial there.

headtube, stays, do you still have stickers on the seattube?

i'd ask you to post a pic of the serial, but that's not really that good of an idea

edit: after doing some quick research, i found that the earliest that frame could be would be a 2000. 1999's still had the specialized logo on the toptube in the old font. it changed in 2000.

don't know if they did it back then, but it could have been a paint sample or an in-house demo/test bike.

i owned a 2000 rock hopper comp and it did not look like that. in 1999 they made steel rockhoppers with the specialized on the top tube but they also made A1 rockhoppers. im sure its not a 2000 and ive kept my eye on them ever since so I would say its a 1999. do a google image search for 1999 rock hopper and the green one will come up that looks just like yours
