    What is a Stumpjumper worth?

Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes.

I have a medium 1993 Stumpjumper Comp hardtail that is all original except for the tires. It is pink (yes pink) with blue decals and has XT throughout. It has probably 500 miles on it and is in good shape. I just put new tires and chain on it.

Any idea what this is worth? I am going to either Craigslist or Ebay it.

    Thanks.

It is worth as much as anyone willing to pay for it. Rule of thumb, any bike priced at half of purchase price will be sold quickly. My assumption will be around $250-275. From buyers perspective if he has to pay around 65-75% of purchase price he probably will go to the bike shop, also current Deore LX is as good as old XT. You can start with high price and check the repsonse from buyers.
I sold couple of bikes in one day (early 90's Black Trek1200 @ $250 (MSRP $650), and 2002 Marin Hybrid @ $300 (MSRP $700) on Craigslist.

    $275 starting point

Original price was $850, but it is over a decade old.

I'm going to put it on Craigslist for $275.

Go on ebay and type that model in then go to "completed listings" on the left side of the page. That will get you an idea what it's been getting on ebay. The posters above are pretty close, but check ebay and see what people actually have paid. Also if you can, wait til the spring when people have biking in mind and more people will be looking to buy a used bike.
