What is the max tire size for a BigHit FSR

I'm thinking of picking up an 04 BigHit FSR and I noticed that it comes with 2.3 tires.
Are there any tire clearence issues on the rear of the bike. I would like to run at least a 2.5 on the rear.

Yup, I used to run 2.7 Maxxis High Rollers with no clearance issues. Now I prefer 2.5s anyway.

I've seen a guy run 3.0 front and back.

if the rear rim is properly dished you will have no problem running a 24x3" in the rear. if it has no dish then the most you can get away with is a 2.5 or maybe a narrow 2.7

The asymetrical chainstays on the 04 BigHit FSR is so that the wheel is not dished.
