    What bike is this?

What bike is this and what year, and how much do you think it's worth? I am looking for a cheap commuter bike.

looks like either a rockhopper or hardrock. probably late 90s, maybe 2001 or 2002. Worth not much more than 150 in my opinion

Hard to tell from the pic. Looks like a Stumpjumper hardtail. It should have the model name on the top tube.

    It's either a 2000 or a 2001.

ah figured it was overpriced as hell. I will just buy the trek 4300 my lbs offered to me for 250 for this year's model and some clipless pedals.

Thanks for the input all. I don't own a specialized bike. I only own a couple treks, but I must say the new rockhopper 29er disc bike is very nice.

Well I just applied the depreciation formula for bikes and this baby is only worth (according to the formula of 1/2 price after a year, then $25 each additional year = $200 less for 8 years + half of 959 for the year 2007) around $280-290

He said he is firm on $500, but I told him I could get the same bike for 2008 for about 2 bills more.

So this guy wants way too much.

Yea, he does want way too much. I have the same bike but a 2001 and with disc brakes and while it is a great bike, 500 for an 8 year old, lower-mid model bike is a little steep.
