Weight of stock BG Phenom saddle?

Does anyone know the weight of the stock Phenom saddle that comes on the Stumpjumper HTs? I don't believe this is the same as the aftermarket Phenom Comp Gel listed on their site but maybe I am wrong. Mine is the 143mm width. Thanks if anyone knows.

The Phenom 143mm with Cro-Mo rails was the stock saddle for my 2011 Epic 29er also. I also noticed that mine does not say 'Gel' on it, so I agree it may be different than the aftermarket 'Comp Gel' version.

I am going from memory, but I believe the saddle is about 270-280 grams. Definitely on the heavy side. FWIW, the older Phenoms are lighter, but not quite as comfortable.

That puts it in the weight range of the "gel" comp listed on their site. So I will save ~40g going to the Expert w/Ti rails. I would just take it off and weigh it...but I hate messing with my set up unless I have to. I have posted this question on Specy's site so maybe they will answer me.

Ok, I think the aftermarket "gel comp" listed on their site is likely different than the one that came on my bike. Same hollow chro-mo rails, but I speculate that my stocker doesn't have "Stiff, carbon reinforced shell for longevity and all-day riding efficiency" which is listed - I bet the stock one is 300g+. I may take it off this weekend and weigh it before I spend $130 on a set to only loose 30g.

Weight of stock BG Phenom saddle?

This is the weight of the OEM Specialized Phenom Comp 143 saddle with cromoly rails that came with my 2012 Epic Expert: 286g

One of the more uncomfortable saddles that I've used.

GREAT! Thanks so much for posting this. Looks like I will loose 43g going to the Phenom Expert w/Ti rails...not great but not bad. I too find this to be an incredibly comfortable saddle.

Uncomfortable, as in I rode it for a month before taking it off. My issues were numbness from the lack of a full central cutout and my sit bones hated its shape. It's been languishing in the skanky bits box ever since.

I'm using a Specialized Romin Evo Expert Gel 143mm saddle at the moment. That suits me a lot better.

The pro has a 240lb weight limit,
My brother has one also,he has his about 2 months and no problems,he is 220lb.
If your seatpost is a side mount you probably have to buy the adapter which is about $15,

Good to hear. I am 170 kitted up and have a Niner RDO post which is not a side loader so should work fine.

I'm looking to possibly purchase the Phenom and I have a question.
It's hard to tell by pics so, is the Phenom flat all the way across at the sit bones portion like the Toupe is? (Side to side.)
Or does it curve down on the edges?

After some riding time, the Phenom Pro is more comfortable (for whatever reason) that the regular Phenom.
