    http://www.dorba2.com/forum/cycling-passion/4743

Bikes where locked up at 3:00pm, we left the pizza place at 3:30pm. Both bikes and locking cables were gone.

Bikes were locked up by this place in Uptown

They were locked to a metal railing that was bolted to the ground.

Mine was a mix of XTR and Hope. All the zip ties were blue and it was signed by Gary Fisher.

Joes was SRAM and XT, gold king hubs and orange frame.

Oh man that sucks so bad. I live a little north of Dallas, but I'll be on the look out on Craigs and my local bike shops.

locks are just a deterrent, unfortunately.

Once upon a time I bought a 5,000 pound test towing chain from Home Depot to make my own serious business setup for securing my bike.

well the really expensive lock I bought came with cheapass keys, one of which twisted off and broke inside the lock.

I cut that super chain no problem with a medium sized pair of bolt cutters.

If every link in the chain were hardened steel like the locking ring on a padlock, it would be much tougher. But still easy enough for a decent sized man to pop fairly quickly with a fresh set of bolt cutters.

there are videos out there proving that generally speaking, people don't concern themselves with someone who is obviously cutting a bike loose.

Its a shitty situation for us out there. My 2003 Giant VT2 was stolen in 2005 while it was double locked in a parking garage.
