top tube lenght for a 2000 stumpjumper fsr xc?

I just bought a med 2000 stumpjumper fsr xc on the net and I should have it here by next weekend. However, when I asked the fella selling it what the top tube lengh is, he shuddered and didn't really know what I was talking about or how to go about taking the measurement. So I am putting my question to the World Federation of Mountain Bikers on MTBR in hopes that someone out there can supply me with the information I seek!
Top tube lenght in both actual and effective (center to center). And will the frame fit me fine at 5'10"?

    Thanks in advance

I would say that you are on the edge of fitting.

I rode several FSRxc of the same vintage and the TT is super short as is the virtual TT
I am 6' and rode a large with a setback seatpost and 120mm stem.
I still felt a bit cramped, but I like a more stretched out riding position.

The geometry is for racing, so lots of emphasis on front wheel weighting.
Tho, everyone likes different rides, a buddy is my height and likes smaller frame

Go figure, but I have always found that Spec frames run small.
However my new 06 Stumpy large is really long in the TT, which is nice for me!

When I sold my bikes I stated that the large would be good for up to 5' 11"
The TT on the large was 22.5" the angles are very strait so not much gained or lost.

I think that the medium was something silly like 21.5"
