    SX-trail + RS Totem 180 mm

Can I put a Totem coil on my 07 sx trail?
    What do you think about?

Yeah, I've seen a few on this board with them. Do a search. I think you'll find them.

I know I've seen some pictures of the SX trail with the Totem....but I'm curious what Specialized's position is on this.

The sticker on my frame said max fork is 170mm.

Will an extra 10mm put that much extra stress on the frame?

You'll void the warranty going that large; stay at, or under, 170mm

    This should clear things up...

    Hey Michael,

    Thanks for riding Specialized.

    Nice bike!

The official stance from Specialized on increasing fork travel is ten percent over recommended max. The 07' SX Trail recommended max is 170mm, a 180mm Totem would stay within parameters.

    Happy trails,
    Bruce.

I would keep the email from them for future reference, just in case it becomes a warranty issue down the road.

I've recently bought a 2007 SX frame in the UK (SX trail three frame) and the warning sticker advises a fork with max travel of 175 mm , so 5 mm over that shouldn't be excessive.

Any way to post a side view of it to see how the head angle and bb are affected along with which shock mounts you are using????

I thought the totem would really slacken the HA on that, but it looks great. I may have to put my Vanilla on my trail bike for a totem on my sxt. Looks great!!
