    stumpy mod question

    hi peps
i have a stumpy comp 2007 and i was wondering if i could change the fox forks 32mm to fatter tubed forks 36mm but keep the same amount of travel fork, i know its a purely cosmetic upgrade, but i find those fatter tubed forks 100 % porn to my eyes. call me shallow.

if you got the money and its really bugging you, go for it.

since you are posting this question, im guessing that money doesnt exactly grow on trees for you. so i would suggest against it. since it is cosmetic based decision and not a performance based decision.

The 36 will add weight, but will be stiffer. You can get the 36 Talas to bring the travel down.

I would decide against it because it will look out of place on the bike and will decrease performance. I once sold a Stumpy to a guy who wanted the bike just to look cool on the streets. I told him that he would be better off with a hardtail commuter but he insisted. The bike now has red side walled armadillo street tires on it.

Go for function and not looks.

It adds stupid weight w/o any real performance benefit. Chalk up another vote for "no."
