Stumpjumper FSR 29 Sizing for 6 footer

I'm 6' on the dot. Long torso, short legs.

I currently ride a hard tail 29er XC bike, 19", with the seatpost at maximum extension, 100mm stem (i think), and I've got a cockpit length of 27.93.

The 2013 Stumpjumper FSR Comp 29 I'm looking at is a size large, spec'd with the stock 90mm stem.

I really want to up the travel to 140 or 150 with a used Pike and go with a shorter stem, but I don't want to be cramped.

    Suggestions?
I do custom ArcGIS and Google Maps, including data collection and sustainable trail layout. Ride Welsh Mountain

Large is the recommended size for your height. The Stumpy will have a different riding position than the hard tail.

You will be good to go on that large. I demoed that exact bike for a couple weeks, I'm 6'-1" with a 32" inseam, ran a 65mm stem & 785 bars on the bike & it was fun as hell! Of course, I went out & got a 2014 Enduro 29, which I really like....a lot

I disagree. I'm 6' long torso, short legs too. A medium with a 90mm stem is perfect for me. If you ride the techy stuff, the 29er is pretty big on a large frame IMHO. I rode both a lot, the med works best for east coast stuff. lighter too.

    Large size

I got the 2014 LARGE 29 Stumpy about a month ago. I'm 5'11, 170Lbs, i did upgrade handle bar to Easton Havoc carbon 750mm low rise and Easton Haven 70mm, no rise.....I really like this setup, much better than the stock. I think you should go for Large size.
    Happy trailing.

I'm also 6'. Long torso. 30 inch inseam. I'm on a medium sjfsr evo 9r.
I used to ride size large bikes bc that's what "they" said fit me. About a decade ago, By fluke accident I tried a friends medium sized bike and felt like it fit me, vs I fit into it...like a boat...happy rider ever since.
