Specialized Enduro - Sizing - WTF?

So I took a 2013 specialized enduro expert for a test ride last night. Great bike, super active suspension, amazing traction on technical climbs. For descending it just needs a proper suspension tune and a descent fork.

However... I was testing a size Large. It simply was way too small for me. Fair enough, I can just order an XL I was thinking... No chance! They don't make one in that size.

Specialized, you are one of the biggest bike brands in the world. Why do you consider that you only need to make bikes for people under 6' tall?

Note: I am 192cm, above average, but not freakishly tall.

I guess the reasoning is that if you need an XL Enduro, you look at the Enduro 29er series.

so tall people have to ride 29 inch wheels - great marketing ploy!

Yeah I was bummed too when they quit making the stumpy 26" in the XL for 2013. I had to order a 2012. But good news apparently the XL is now available for 2014 26" Stumpy EVO according to the new geo charts.

So you could go the Stumpy route instead.

Do you really need all that travel & bulk of the enduro?

Small wheels & a XL frame make it look like a clown bike.

    Try a 29er
    S-Works Venge
    S-Works Crux Disc
    Stumpjumper Expert EVO HT 29er
    Crux SS - Team Stumpjumper
    Roubaix Expert - Neon Pink

    Try it with 800mm bars?
