Forgive cross posting/new thread but thought it worthwhile bringing this to attention of Specialized S-works mtb owners. It derives from the "Are Specialized ripping us off" thread (post 31).

Specialized Australia have changed the claimed ceramic bearing feature on their Australian web site for their S-works models, I think due to pressure from Gov't dept's and especially LBSs.
http://www.specialized.com/au/gb/bc/....jsp?scid=1000
It now reads "•Specialized FACT OSBB carbon crankset is paired with a SRAM XX spider and 38/24t rings to create market-leading stiffness-to-weight for the ultimate power transfer"

Used to read: "•Specialized FACT OSBB carbon crankset with ceramic bearings is paired with a SRAM XX spider and 38/24t rings to create market-leading stiffness-to-weight for the ultimate power transfer" (as it does on other countries web sites)

Note there is now no reference to ceramic bearings in the new claim as these seem not to be fitted, though the other claims are still there. So we can bring about changes to the claims made if we believe they are misleading. Of course the laws in Australia are different to elsewhere so you may not be as protected.

FWIW.
