    Specialized 2bliss Tires/ Please Help!

Hello. I ride a 2009 Stumpy FSR Expert 29er and am relatively new to the sport.
6'2" and 196 lbs. without riding gear.

Front tire is the Specialized 2bliss Eskar 29 x 2.3

I need to replace a blown REAR tire and would prefer to purchase from my LBS a Specialized tire, mainly for convenience purposes as my knowledge of other brand of tires is somewhat lacking. Also, have an immediate need!

My rear blown tire that I am replacing is Maxxis Instigator 29 x 2.1

Live and ride in Southern California.

I am not so much concerned about speed as I am as traction and braking for steeper, technical trails.

Any recommendation for a Specialized rear tire would be very much appreciated. Thank you!!

+1 on the Purg. 2.2 in the back (control 2 bliss)

A great combo is the 2.4 Purg. on the front and 2.2 Purg. on the back.I have had the Spec. Eskar's before and the Purgs out perform them in every way.

Thank you very much, I will purchase the Purg. 2.2 today if they have in stock. Do you think there will be any issue with riding my current Eskar 2.3 up front with the Purg. 2.2 for the rear? Or should I just switch out the Eskar?

Eskar, Captain or Fast Trak. All in 2.2 are great tires.

Unfiortunately, no Purg. in stock. The only 29 the had was the Captain 2.0..

What are opinions of having a rear size tire of 2.0 when my front is a 2.3??

Either way I am finding out tomorrow but would like to hear experienced opinions.

I run captain 2.2 on front and 2.0 on rear. Great tire. Though I'll probably put a 2.2 on the rear.
The bike is nothing more then circles turning circles, It's the human motor that makes it elegant.
