Ended up exchanging 2012 Carve Expert for this sexy thing. LBS hooked it up and only made sense to get it.

Did I see your post in a different thread about making this decision? You pulled the trigger. LBS sure did hook you up.

Lol, probably, I had the Carve expert for a little but just didn't like the color and had a issue with a leaky fork from factory so as I was taking in the bike to the LBS to get warranty service I saw the Stumpy, they had it lost in the warehouse in the back in the box and just put it together and even in my size I was surprised! So I made a deal almost paying the same price I paid for the carve, so I couldn't turn it down plus I would be back riding not waiting for a part from SRAM.

    I think I did good!

Finally moved my parts to a 2011 frame and added a Widgit for 1X9. Still have some work to do on it (like cleaning up those ugly cables), but it's coming in pretty light so far at 19.4 lbs.

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. Taking shots indoors with an iPhone is tough.

Just purchased 2010 SJ HT 29erFrame

Built this bike up on a budget, I had all the drivetrain except the 9 speed 12-36 rear cassette
    Frame: $325- Stumpjumper Comp 29er 2010
    Fork: $160- Rockshox XC/32/TK
    Wheels: $160- Vuelta Zerolite pro
    Tires: $70Tioga -Psycho Genius 2.25
Enjoyment of a fast hardtail: priceless!

It's pretty heavy to many XC folks at 28.81 Lbs but for me it's really light. I usually don't ride anything under 34lbs. The wheels are heavy but I went tubeless to help lighten things up. I basically had all the parts including: handlebars, stem, grips, shifter, Command Post, seat, pedals, cranks, brakes (new ones coming), Just had to purchase the tires, wheels, fork, frame. about $800

So the fork is 100mm travel, the stem is 60mm long and running the Spec Command Post - I want this to be a light all mountain bike and it is. I enjoyed a great first ride on it! Didn't miss a beat from my 26" wheeled full susp. The 1X9 is killer too 32 tooth front, 12-36 rear 9 speed- yeah my legs need to get stronger!!!!

By the way, the Bionicon C. Guide (the gold do-hickey), is $50, but an amazing bit of kit! I like to dip my heels when railing corners and usually the back pedaling will derail the chain. I've had the C. Guide on 2 bikes now and will not go back to "blackspire type guides. With the blackspire guide I'd still get chain derailment. The C. Guide is light at 50g, quiet (I never hear it riding), and works.. What more could you want from a product

Btw: I hope to start a trend of posting pics on top of your work bench in your man (or woman) cave!

I'll play. Here is my 2012 Expert. Just got it a few weeks ago. I added my carbon Roval SL's from my Epic, a S-Works post from my buddy, XTR cassette of course and a X0 crankset with MRP Bling Ring and E13 XCX guide. Did the Laramie Enduro last weekend on it and what a blast. Good to have a hardtail back in the quiver.
