im tring to decide between this bike and the trek fuel ex7. i tried both out and they fit me very well. i do mostly trail riding. what are some opinions
My wife ride a Trek Ex6 close to a month, fall in love with my stumpy fsr elite, return the Ex6 and i bought her the WSD stumpy fsr comp.
The best word she describes, which i concur, is the efficiency of the stumpy climbing up hill way better then the Ex6.
She also test rode/rent the FSR XC Pro on uphill climbing and feels the stumpy is slightly efficent (with same suspension set-up). It's slightly heavy compare to stumpy. I think the FSRxc Pro is like 30lbs (medium), while her new stumpy is 28.5lbs (medium). Her old Trek EX6 is about 31Lbs (medium).
I asked my wife, since i'm the one is paying, why would she want FSRxc Pro with 100mm Reba (compare to Fox Float 120mm), Avid Jucy 3 (compare to avid juicy 5), M4 Frame (compare to M5 frame), SRAM SX-5 trigger (compare to X-7), rim, etc..... for just $200 more (the price different at our LBS)?
thanks for the response.
well i guess ill find out what she is talking about. i just bought a stumpy comp. they are all out of xc pro and comps til late aug. im happy with the purchase. i agree u get great upgrades, but mine was $300 more compared to the xc. that is because the xc was just 1699 at the lbs and the sj was 1999.
thanks for the response.

That's a great choice. !!
Rememeber, not just components, you get better compact M5 lighter frame on that stumpy too (compare the FSR Xc) and XC/all-mountain bike.
thanks for the response.

Yeah, that's a much nicer choice. I have the SJ FSR Elite and really dig it.
