    S-works Epic XX1 Crank

Who manufactures the crank on the S-works Epic bike with XX1 build?

I have been trying to get one, Specialized said they may sell it separately later next year.

Why do you prefer to wait for the specialized labeled crank rather than buy a SRAM now?

But is it the regular SRAM XX1 crank? I thought it was different and lighter. Is it available from SRAM?

The '14 S-Works crank has an integrated carbon spider, where the Sram XX1 does not..

It is not available from SRAM.

Talking to a Specialized Rep a few weeks back, the crank should be available next year after the production for complete bikes gets caught up.

    sworks and wolf tooth

If you want you could just do an Sworks crank with a Wolf Tooth ring for 1X setup.

    Instead of the S-Works Cranks . . .

I ordered a new S-Works Stumpjumper HT with those cranks and I was already considering changing them to the Race Face Next SL Direct Mount. About 200grams lighter than the SRAM XX1 cranks but I don't know the difference vs the new S-Works ones.

What specifically about these cranks makes you so hungry for them when perhaps the Race Face Next SL is a great option?

New crank is heavier than 2013 S-works cranks. Also does not take a 28 chainring (if that matters).
Stick with old crank if weight matters. If not, get a SRAM or Raceface crank.
