Replacing chainrings on stock S1250 cranks

I am running the stock S1250 36/22 cranks that came on my Stumpy FSR with stock bash. Can I simply remove the big ring and bash and replace with this chainring (also 36T) and new chainring bolts with no issues???

You should be able to use the 36t 104BCD ring. Are you keeping the bash?

This crankset is really a triple, in that the middle ring is an inner mount and the bashguard is an outer mount like the big ring would be (104 spacing). Your link doesn't show a 36T inner mount. I've got the same crank and just replaced with Blackspire 24/34 and love them. The SRAM rings are weak in my opinion, and didn't even last a year for me. I would not recommend replacing again with SRAM.
If you're looking to get rid of the bash and run this ring on the outside, it's not going to work because your spacing between small and big is too far and the chain will catch on the inner chainring mount.

If the existing outer ring and the new outer are both 36T and 104BCD then shouldn't it be a simple swap? If so, then next question would be can this crank be ran without the stock bash?

Sorry for my lack of crank knowledge...

Your 36 tooth ring is actually a middle ring for a triple. It mounts on the inner side of the 104mm tabs. The bash guard mounts on the outer side of those tabs like a 46 tooth triple would. I only know all this because i just did all this research 2 months ago and ended up on the blackspires

Confirmed as well. I have the SRAM S1250 on my '13 SJ FSR and replaced the 36T with a Blackspire 34T in the same spot, kept the bash guard, reused the original bolts. Make sure the replacement ring has shift gates if you still want to use the small ring (eg; Super Pro for Blackspire chain rings).
I have a black belt in MS Paint.
