I picked up a used 2008 stumpjumper with the specialized futureshock (brain) fork. The stanchions only measure 90mm so I called my dealer and they confirmed that it needs a rebuild to get full travel. They couldn't quote me a firm price, but said $150-$250.
I've heard very mixed reviews about the longevity of the fork and was wondering if it's worth rebuilding? Thoughts?
Also one shop mentioned that specialized has been working out deals on replacement forks, but since I am not the original owner I'm guessing I'm out of luck.
Should I just replace the fork?
