    Quality of the stock headset!

I have a 2005 Enduro Comp 130 with all stock components. I was wondering what is the quality of the headset that comes on these bikes? Will it last through lots of sandy riding? I notice they put the same headset on most of the bikes.

I ask because I have a King headset that I would like to eventually put on or I may just leave the stock headset on.

    Thanks....

    The head sets for Specialized....

are manufactured for them by Cane Creek. They are a good quality head set and will hold up for a long time. They use tripple sealed cartridge bearings and are pretty much maintenance free. Just pull em apart once a year and clean out the cups. I've never had a problem with them.

That being said, if you want to install your King, go for it. The King is a better head set, higher quality bearings etc. Myself I'd go for the king, you'll probably have another bike before you wear out the stock head set, unless you really hammer the bike. Besides, there's always the "bling factor" of having a CK heads set!

The stock CC head set is good, the CK is just that much better.

Thanks for the info. I may leave the stock CC on there.
