2014 Stumpjumper Carbon HT on order...hoping for delivery this weekend. I've been on the fence about purchasing a new bike for over a year now and finally pulled the trigger. Very excited to receive my first Specialized.

That's a sick bike. Though, I would have opted for a Syntace P6 HiFlex seat post over the Thomson.
    Enjoy the ride!

13 S-Works crank is 166q according to Masterlink. I'd like to see the arm clearance on 156q. Also, what length arms?

Arm clearance for 156Q and 175mm length on both sides is about 7mm.

Big difference. 8m feels like a wet noodle. 10m + TA is super stiff

Wet noodle? Is there really a difference you can 'feel' between the two? The 10m has internal cable routing and the 8m does not. Just curious.

Nice bike. Does anyone know if the geometry has changed on the 2014 hardtails?

    Slight changes:

0.5º increase in head tube angle
    5mm shorter top tube
    3mm longer chain stays
    Minuscule increase in wheelbase

Biggest difference is the TA and stiffness. Feels more direct and solid

Deals to be had on 2013's but no wiggle from LBS on 2014 model. Would have bought 2013 but medium frame felt small to me. Free tubeless was my discount.

I am trying to upgrade my comp, would it be worth upgrading my drivetrain to 1x11? Or should I go with new wheels or possibly a carbon crank?

I bought another pair. Upgraded the bike and wanted 142+. On a set of '14 Control SL and they are bomber. I have a pair of '13 SL's (135mm) sitting around the house

is it worth upgrading my 14 stump comp with full xx1? I figured I could trash all the lower grade stuff along with the horrible stock brakes.

Anyone have a pic of their Stumpjumper I could use for reference that also has a 34" inseam?

Contemplating whether to purchase a large with a long seat post/stem or xl with a shorter seat post/stem.

Pics of your 2014 Stumpjumper HT

My Stumpjumper HT Carbon Expert size XL. Only two minor modifications as compared to stock. Changed to a wider carbonbar - Easton EC70 (matte black/grey) and grey ESI grips (chunky). Is changing to a S-works stem with more negative rise as I am having a little trouble keeping the front wheel down on steep ascends.

I sooo want to try a new Stumpy HT. The geometry on my '11 Comp is sweet, but I want to try a 29'er.

Can anybody help me with the frame weight difference between the Stumpjumper HT Comp Carbon and the Expert, Marathon or S-Works models?

I'm looking for the frame difference (not the total weight).

I know you didn't want total weights but to help the calculation!

S-Works frame is 1352g - bear carbon + mech hanger.
Actually 1400g including, thru axel and seat post clamp.

Just from my personal experiences handling different stumpjumpers...
And some rough math in my head between part specs... I would say maybe 75-100 grams.

I don't think the weight between frames is really going to be all that much. but... the higher end frames WILL be definitely lighter.

    Very nice looking bike!
With a rigid fork I'm sure it will be light and fast. Let us know how the first ride goes.

How are you getting on with your bike?
I would like to hear how the ride compares to your previous S-Works HT.
    Made any changes?

Guys, I have a SID Brain 2014 and found the rebound to be 54 clicks from fastest to slowest rebound and the Brain has 24 clicks. My experience with my 26er SID its about 20 clicks end to end. Can I check if my fork is broken or is this the right amount of clicks?

Either take it to your LBS or ask the Specialized MasterLink FAQ.

Thanks for advising. Specialized confirmed 54 clicks rebound and 24 clicks Brain is correct.
