    Picked up a Rockhopper....

Yup, it's true. So let the fun begin. It's my first real bike... I think it will be a good starter. Now I gotta find some trails to hit, and start learning how to ride off-road lol.

Very very nice bike. The red and black give it that mean look.

What size and brand is the front tire?

    Thx

i'm assuming that's because you don't have disc brakes?

i had a hard time deciding between the black and the red, but I think I made the right choice.

Just got one a week ago !!!! When the upgrades arrive I'll put up a picture... 2007 Avid Disc Brakes, 2007 Sram X-7 derailleurs and shifters and thinking about Sram 9 speed cassette. BTW , is it worth it or I should just stay with the 8 speed stock cassette ??

well this is my real mountain bike, so right now i'm not out riding my rockhopper. it sounds like for all of the upgrades you would have quite a bit invested. how much are all of those put together?

Somewhere around $300 got the brake combo with levers and everything for $164 and the 2007 Sram X-7( which as far as I understand is pretty similar to a 2006 X-9) for something around $ 130.

that's not too bad then, if it was going to be a ton more like 400-500 more then i would have just said upgrade to a better bike, but that's going to be a good one to ride

Great looking bike! You can't go wrong with a Rockhopper, it was my first "real" mountain bike too...I bought mine in 1991 though.

Wow I think this is the first "look at my new mountain bike" post that didn't have a picture of a bike with a bunch of reflectors on it. Congrats!

Now go ride and have fun!
