    Oil Residue

    I've been riding my SJ bike for about a year. Yesterday I noticed oil residue on my Septune shock and my Talas RC fork. How concerned should I be?

    Forks and shocks will seep very small amounts around the seals, but if you have a lot or it's leaking from the rebound knob or elsewhere, be worried. It's probably time for a service and some new seals after a year anyway. Riding them with leaks will eventually destroy them.

    Seals

    The residue is around the seals. Its not much, but I've never had it before. I guess sometime in January I'll take the ride to have the shock and spokes serviced. Meantime, I'll watch it to see if it gets worse.
